Opening Note

A Little Hello Before We Begin ☕

Hello, my Soul 101 family. 🤍 I’ve missed being here with you.

While I was still recovering from episcleritis in both eyes, a gnarly virus made its way home from school, knocked the entire household down and had me stretched beyond capacity, which is a hard thing for this Aries Rising girl to say. Thank you for your patience and for giving me room to be human. Coffee is in hand, and we’re starting right where we are...here... together.

Theme of the Day: Let What Matters Shape What Comes Next

There are days when moving forward begins with reconsidering what we’re asking of ourselves. Today’s sky offers that kind of pause.

Venus begins her retrograde, Mars faces Pluto, and the Last Quarter Moon invites reflection on what needs adjusting. The approaching Sun–Saturn opposition adds a practical question: Can the way we’re doing this support us over time?

You may care deeply about a person, a promise, or a possibility and still need to change how you show up for it.

Let what matters guide your next step. Let your actual capacity help determine its size.

Heart Energy

With the Moon in Cancer, our emotional focus turns toward belonging, familiarity, and the places where we can put down our armor.

Perhaps you want a meaningful conversation. Perhaps you want someone to make the coffee without requiring a committee meeting first. Small acts of care can speak clearly.

Venus turning retrograde in Scorpio invites a closer look at trust, affection, and what we value. A familiar feeling may deserve a fresh question:

“What am I needing here that I haven’t quite found the words for?”

You don’t have to reach a final conclusion today. Recognizing the need is already useful.

Mind, Body & Momentum

Mars in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius early today, giving our day the potential to be a little... spicy, lol.

Mars's home base is in Aries. Aries has enthusiasm. Aries has opinions. Aries may also need to check whether every inconvenience requires a formal declaration of war. 😅

Watch for the moment determination becomes a demand to prove yourself. You might notice an urge to push harder, win the discussion, or complete everything now that you finally have some energy.

Try giving that determination one clear job. Finish a manageable task. State a boundary plainly. Put your attention into something you can influence.

Having energy again doesn’t require spending all of it immediately.

Perception & Possibility

Mercury in Scorpio encourages us to look beneath the surface, but its lingering squares to Mars and Pluto deserve some awareness. An insightful question can become an interrogation when we’re already convinced we know the answer.

Before responding, separate what happened from what you think it means.

“They haven’t replied” is an observation.“I don’t matter to them” is an interpretation.

The feeling deserves compassion. The interpretation may need more information.

There is creative possibility here, too. Mars’s recent trine to Neptune and approaching sextile to Uranus offer a symbolic invitation to use imagination and try another approach.

You’re allowed to solve a familiar problem differently.

Relationships, Worth & Personal Power

As Venus begins her review, consider the agreements you’ve made, especially the ones nobody ever said aloud.

Have you become the person who always adjusts? Does someone know you need help, or have you been hoping they’ll notice? Is a commitment still workable in its current form?

These questions can open a conversation without deciding its outcome in advance.

“I care about this, but I need us to find a more manageable way” leaves room for both connection and honesty.

Your needs belong in the relationship, too.

Today’s Turning Point

The Last Quarter Moon was exact at approximately 6:24 a.m. Pacific, followed by the Moon’s square to Saturn around 8:08 a.m.

Our invitation for this combination is to notice where expectations and resources no longer match. Something unfinished may need another day. A responsibility may need to be shared. A plan may need fewer moving parts.

If disappointment appears, you can acknowledge it without turning it into a judgment of your character.

A limit gives you information about the next step. It does not tell you what you’re worth.

Afternoon & Evening

The Moon remains in Cancer and is void of course from approximately 8:08 a.m. today until 3:53 p.m. Sunday.

This is not a prohibition on productivity. This energy just lends itself more to the smaller tasks and what is already in progress, rather than adding more to the plate or taking on a big project. It can be used as permission to revisit, complete, and settle into what is already underway.

An evening Moon–Ceres conjunction adds a smaller nurturing note to the day. Consider a simple act of care you would appreciate receiving and, where possible, let yourself receive it.

Dinner can be easy. Company can be quiet. A good evening doesn’t need an impressive agenda.

What Today May Feel Like

You may recognize:

  • Wanting closeness while also needing space.

  • Feeling motivated, then discovering you still have limits.

  • Noticing an old relationship pattern with new clarity.

  • Feeling tempted to defend yourself before clarifying.

  • Finding relief in a smaller, more honest plan.

You may also feel quite steady today. There’s no requirement to go looking for a struggle.

Supportive Actions

  • Give your energy one clear job. Choose one manageable task before committing to the rest of the list. Check in with yourself when it’s done.

  • Ask before assuming. “Can you help me understand what you meant?” creates room for information that a defensive response might miss.

  • Make one honest adjustment. Change a deadline, share a responsibility, or say, “I can help with this part.” Let your commitments reflect your available capacity.

  • Pause when urgency takes over. Unclench your jaw, lower your shoulders, and take a comfortable breath. Ask whether this needs an immediate response.

  • Let care reach you, too. Accept practical help, ask for company, or make time for something comforting. You don’t have to finish everything before having needs.

Where This May Show Up

Read your Rising sign; your Sun sign can offer an additional layer.

Aries Rising: Home and relationships ask for attention. Sharing responsibility may help you enjoy what you’re working so hard to protect.

Taurus Rising: Conversations and partnerships invite review. Ask directly rather than making yourself responsible for deciphering every silence.

Gemini Rising: Daily commitments deserve a practical look. Consider whether your time and effort reflect what you value.

Cancer Rising: Your needs belong beside your responsibilities. Make some room for pleasure without requiring yourself to earn it first.

Leo Rising: Mars in your sign can symbolize strong initiative. In partnership, leave room for another person’s agency alongside your own.

Virgo Rising: Friendship, communication, and routine are useful places to simplify. One clear request may accomplish more than several careful hints.

Libra Rising: Public responsibilities and personal resources need an honest conversation. You can revise what you offer without diminishing its value.

Scorpio Rising: Venus stations in your sign, inviting reflection on what feels authentic now. Give yourself time to understand changing preferences.

Sagittarius Rising: Shared obligations and private needs deserve attention. Something you’ve carried quietly may be ready to be discussed.

Capricorn Rising: Relationships, community, and competing duties come into focus. Let others participate in finding a workable arrangement.

Aquarius Rising: Personal power and partnership require care. Notice where cooperation is possible before treating a difference as a contest.

Pisces Rising: Creativity and practical demands need room together. A small enjoyable act can be part of the day too.

A Note from Mandy

This week reminded me that understanding my needs doesn’t always make respecting them comfortable. I wanted to be present for my sick family, for my Mom in the hospital, and for all of you.

Sometimes giving attention to one meant stepping away from another. I knew that was necessary, but I still had feelings about it.

Emotional literacy doesn’t mean we never react, misunderstand, or wish we could do more. It gives us a way to notice, ask questions, make repairs, and try again.

So if you’ve needed to say, “I want to, but I can’t right now,” you have company.

We can begin with what’s possible today.

Looking Ahead

Sunday’s Sun–Saturn opposition becomes exact around 5:28 a.m. Pacific, continuing the reflection on expectations, boundaries, and responsibility.

The Moon enters Leo around 3:53 p.m., shifting the emphasis toward expression, creativity, and warmth.

For today, consider:

What is one adjustment that would help me keep caring without asking more of myself than I can give?

With love,

Mandy 🤍
