Opening Note
A Little Hello Before We Begin ☕
Hello, my Soul 101 family. 🤍
I’m sorry for the hiccup in our forecasts and for arriving late today. A family health need followed by a rather determined tooth infection required more of my attention and recovery time than I had planned.
Our Soul 101 membership changes will now begin Wednesday, October 14. This gives me a more reasonable amount of time to prepare, with some breathing room for whatever life may throw at me along the way.
As a quick reminder: The Opening Note, Emotional Weather Forecast and Theme of the Day will remain free, with membership options for those who want the full forecast and opportunities to explore further. I’ll share the details and joining links before the change on Wednesday. The forecasts will be back on track to go out at midnight again starting with tomorrow's forecast. Thank you again for your patience and for allowing me to be human.
Yesterday brought our Libra New Moon. If your day was occupied by being human, like mine was, don't worry we haven’t missed our opportunity to reflect or begin again. Today, we’ll bring that new beginning into conversation with a deeper emotional sky.
Let’s check the celestial weather.
Your Emotional Weather Forecast 🌤️
🌡️ Temperature - Cool on the surface, with pockets of heat underneath. You may want privacy or time to think while feeling strongly about something internally. Notice when quiet reflection begins turning into a rehearsed argument.
🌧️ Precipitation - Sensitivity Showers around trust and feeling supported. A small exchange may touch a larger need for reassurance, consideration, or honesty. Give that need words before expecting someone else to recognize it.
💨 Winds - Circling thoughts, with occasional gusts of certainty. You may feel drawn to investigate what something means. Check whether you are gathering new information or repeatedly reviewing the same details.
⚠️ Warnings - Urgency becoming a demand for certainty. Wanting an answer is understandable. Before pressing for one, ask whether the situation needs immediate action or whether uncertainty is simply uncomfortable.
⛅ Outlook - A chance for honest connection, with some late-evening heat. Sensitivity and irritation may sit close together tonight. Clear requests, realistic expectations, and a little room to pause can help you respond thoughtfully.
Today’s Theme: Listen to the Feeling Before You Decide What It Means
Yesterday’s Libra New Moon, at approximately 17°22′ Libra, began a lunar cycle that invites reflection on relationships, fairness, and the agreements we make. This morning, the Moon entered Scorpio around 8:21 AM Pacific, ending its void period and bringing our attention toward trust, vulnerability, and what lies beneath an outward response.
The movement from Libra into Scorpio offers a useful progression:
What would make this arrangement fairer? What feelings come up when I consider asking for that?
You may know you need help and still feel uncomfortable requesting it. You may want to revise a commitment and worry that someone will think less of you. You may feel hurt without yet understanding which part of an interaction bothered you.
Start there. A feeling gives you something to listen to. Understanding it may take a little more attention.
“I feel uneasy” names an experience.
“They must be hiding something” offers an explanation.
But that explanation may need checking.
Today, give yourself enough room to notice the feeling, explore the meaning you have attached to it, and ask what information or care would help you respond.
A Little Pause Before We Go Deeper ☕
Beginning Wednesday, October 14, this will be where the free daily forecast will end. The Opening Note, Emotional Weather Forecast and Theme of the Day (As Above) will remain available to everyone. Until then, enjoy the full forecast below. Thank you for giving these new beginnings a little room to take shape. 🤍
Heart Energy
What Are You Trying to Protect?
The Scorpio Moon squares Pluto in Aquarius around 2:08 PM Pacific. This brings attention to emotionally charged reactions, vulnerability, and the ways we try to regain a sense of control.
Sometimes the impulse to manage a situation begins with something sensitive.
You want reassurance, so you keep checking for a reply. You want to feel included, so a changed plan feels especially significant. You want to know you matter, so a distracted response lands harder than expected.
Try asking:
“What am I afraid this means?”
“What do I need right now?”
“What do I actually know about the situation?”
Our beliefs can influence the emotional meaning of an experience, too.
Imagine you are asked to help when you are already exhausted. You consider saying no, then feel guilty.
The thought underneath might be:
“If I cared enough, I would find a way.”
If caring has come to mean always being available no matter what, a reasonable limit may feel like a failure of love. That is something you can examine. Is there a responsibility you need to address? Are you holding yourself to an expectation you, yourself, would never place on someone you love?
Today's energy reminds us to bring awareness to the meaning we are giving to our experiences and to let the emotion speak for a minute before deciding what it means. Scorpio and Pluto are not surface level energies. We may need to look beyond surface appearance today and double check our assumptions.
Listening to a feeling can help you discover a need, a concern, or a learned expectation. From there, you have more information about what to do next.
Mind, Body & Momentum
Give Your Questions Somewhere Useful to Go
Mercury in Scorpio brings our focus to investigation and deeper understandings. Meanwhile, Mars in Leo is approaching a trine with Saturn in Aries, bringing a developing connection between initiative and structure rather than an exact aspect today.
Together, these themes offer a practical invitation: give your attention a specific job. When something feels unresolved, it is easy to keep thinking without identifying what would help.
You reread the message. Reconsider the conversation. Imagine another explanation. The effort continues, but the information stays the same.
Ask:
“What question am I trying to answer?”
“Where could I find information that would help?”
“Is there a useful action available right now?”
You might clarify a deadline, ask what someone meant, or write down a concern to discuss when both people have time and capacity. If no useful action is available, choose where your attention can go for now.
The developing Mars–Saturn connection also gives us a way to think about sustainable effort. Choose a task with a clear endpoint and allow your present capacity to shape its size rather than letting the task over estimate your capacity.
A focused twenty minutes can be a complete contribution.
Perception & Possibility
Leave Room for Another Explanation
The Moon quincunxes Neptune around 1:10 PM Pacific and Uranus around 6:19 PM. A quincunx is an adjustment aspect: it describes themes that may need accommodation rather than fitting together easily.
With Neptune, we can explore uncertainty and impressions that are difficult to put into words. With Uranus, we can consider our response to surprise, interruption, or a need for change.
You may sense that someone or something is different without knowing why. Give that observation room to remain a question.
“I noticed you seem quieter. Would you like some space, or can I offer to listen?”
This leaves room for an explanation beyond our first assumption.
Relationships, Worth & Personal Power
Let Your Request Be Heard
Yesterday’s square between Venus retrograde in Scorpio and Mars in Leo is now separating.
But tonight, the Moon meets Venus and then squares Mars, bringing those relationship themes back into our daily focus.
Venus in Scorpio gives us questions about trust, closeness, and emotional honesty. Mars in Leo brings the desire to act, express ourselves, and feel recognized.
You might want someone to appreciate an effort you have made. You might need reassurance but feel exposed asking for it.
Notice whether the request comes out as a complaint:
“You never notice how much I do.”
Try finding the request underneath:
“I’ve been carrying a lot, and I would appreciate some acknowledgment and help.”
The Libra New Moon’s invitation is still active here: an agreement can include care for the relationship and honesty about your own needs.
Afternoon & Evening
Sensitivity Deserves Thoughtful Timing
After the afternoon’s Moon–Pluto square, the evening continues with several contacts worth noting.
At approximately 9:01 PM Pacific, the Sun squares Ceres, the asteroid associated in astrology with nurturing and care. This can bring us to ask whether the support being offered matches the support someone needs.
At 9:26 PM, the Moon conjuncts retrograde Venus in Scorpio. This offers a focus on affection, familiar attachments, and what helps us feel valued.
Then, at 11:42 PM, the Moon squares Mars in Leo, giving us a late-night prompt to notice impatience and the urge to act quickly.
There is room for connection tonight, but there is also reason to be cautious with our timing.
You might ask:
“Would you like me to listen, help you think through options, or give you some space?”
If a conversation becomes sharper than either person intended, pause long enough to notice what is happening.
Are you discussing the present issue? Are you trying to settle several old frustrations at once? Are you both able to listen? Would rest help you return with more attention?
A pause works best when its meaning is clear:
“This matters to me, and I want to give it proper attention. Can we come back to it tomorrow?”
You can care about resolving something without requiring an exhausted conversation to carry the whole resolution.
What Today May Feel Like
Wanting a clear answer when the situation still contains uncertainty.
Feeling protective of something you have not yet put into words.
Recognizing guilt when you consider a reasonable limit.
Looking closely at a conversation and struggling to stop reviewing it.
Wanting affection and personal space in the same evening.
Realizing that the help offered differs from the help you need.
Feeling more understood after making a specific request.
These are possibilities not predictions. Let your own experience guide what is useful.
Supportive Actions
Name the feeling first. Give yourself a moment to identify it before using it to explain someone else’s behavior.
Write down the meaning you are attaching to it. “I feel overlooked” is the feeling “I believe I don’t matter” is an attached meaning.
Ask one clarifying question. Seek information that could change or deepen your understanding.
Turn a complaint into a request. Identify what you would appreciate receiving.
Give investigation a stopping point. Notice when you are reviewing the same material without learning anything new.
Match your commitment to your capacity. Choose an amount of effort you can realistically offer.
Check what kind of support is wanted. Listening, practical help, reassurance, and space serve different needs.
Choose timing that supports listening. An important conversation deserves enough attention from everyone involved.
Where This May Show Up
By Rising Sign
Aries Rising: The focus moves from partnership agreements into trust and shared responsibilities. Clarify what each person is contributing and expecting. A direct conversation can help an arrangement feel more understandable.
Taurus Rising: Yesterday’s emphasis on routines moves into one-to-one relationships today. Consider how your daily commitments affect your availability to others. Be honest about what you can offer while still caring about what they need.
Gemini Rising: Creative intentions meet the practical details of your day. Give an interest a realistic place in your schedule. Notice whether your expectations leave room for enjoyment as well as completion.
Cancer Rising: The focus shifts from home and belonging toward creativity, pleasure, and expression. Consider what you would enjoy sharing simply because it matters to you. Someone else’s response does not have to decide whether the experience was worthwhile.
Leo Rising: Conversations and information give way to more private feelings. Something said casually may touch a deeper concern about home or belonging. Take time to understand why it stayed with you before deciding how to respond.
Virgo Rising: Questions about resources and priorities move into communication. Be specific about cost, time, effort, or expectations. Clear details can prevent an assumption from becoming an avoidable frustration.
Libra Rising: The New Moon’s focus on personal choices moves toward what supports those choices. Look at how your time, money, and energy are being used. One practical adjustment can help your priorities become more visible in daily life.
Scorpio Rising: The Moon enters your sign after yesterday’s quieter, inward New Moon focus. Notice what you are ready to acknowledge about your needs. You can express a preference without first building an elaborate case for having it.
Sagittarius Rising: Community and future hopes give way to a need for privacy or reflection. Consider whether you need more input or a break from taking it in. You can remain committed to people and projects while making room to rest.
Capricorn Rising: The focus moves from visible responsibilities toward friendships, groups, and shared goals. Clarify your role before taking on more. A useful contribution has room for both commitment and realistic limits.
Aquarius Rising: A larger idea or changing perspective meets questions about direction and responsibility. Identify one concrete step that supports what you are learning. You do not need to settle your entire future to make a considered choice today.
Pisces Rising: Questions about trust and shared obligations open into a wider examination of beliefs. Notice whether an old rule is shaping what you think you are allowed to ask for. Give yourself room to reconsider it in light of your present experience.
A Note from Mandy ☕
I had a forecast ready to take shape yesterday. Life needed my attention elsewhere, and it did not make it out. There is a moment in that kind of interruption when disappointment can quickly become a story about who I am.
“I didn’t finish this” starts turning into “I should be able to manage all of this.”
That is where I needed to pause.
I can care deeply about consistency, acknowledge that something was missed, learn from it and make a new plan. I can also look honestly at what the day required of me. This weekend’s Libra New Moon brought me back to the agreements I make with myself. Today’s Scorpio Moon invited me to look at the feelings beneath them.
What do I believe a delay says about me?
Would I apply that same judgment to someone I love?
What would help me return with care?
Moving our membership changes to Wednesday is part of my answer. My Libra has also requested that “room for being human” become an official calendar category. lol
Perhaps you have something you are returning to, too.
You are allowed to begin from the circumstances you actually have, with the understanding you have gained along the way. 🤍
Looking Ahead
The Moon remains in Scorpio on Monday and meets Mercury around 11:48 AM Pacific, giving our next forecast a focus on finding words for what we have been noticing and feeling.
For tonight, try this:
“I can listen to what I feel and give myself time to understand it.”
With love,
Mandy 🤍
